When diabetes starts affecting kidney then another prominent symptom which one can notice is high blood pressure. The blood pressure often spikes up because diabetes affects the blood vessels. The blood vessels start to shrink which leads to poor circulation of blood.

- Exercise regularly for at least thirty minutes a day
- Keep a check on your blood pressure
- Eat a healthy and balanced diet
- Sleep properly for six to eight hours
- If you see early symptoms then take prevention steps immediately
- If you are overweight, shed those extra kilos
- Drink plenty of water
- Reduce your stress level
- Try to avoid carbonated drinks and artificial juices as much as possible
- Quit smoking
- Consume more fiber
- Cut extra intake of sugar
- Do not consume processed food items
